ABOUT

SNEAKING TO WIN is a striking 16.1H chestnut stallion by the outstanding Group 1 sire SNITZEL, sire of over 110 Stakes winners including TRAPEZE ARTIST, REDZEL, SHAMUS AWARD, ESTIJAAB, RUSSIAN REVOLUTION, to name just a few. SNITZEL was Champion sire in Australia in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020 and Champion 2YO sire 3 times.

In winning his fourth champion sires’ title in 2020, Snitzel surpassed his breed-shaping sire Redoute’s Choice (Danehill), who landed three (2006, 2010, 2014), but was never able to string consecutive titles together.

Four straight titles earns Snitzel a place in the loftiest company. In the 137-year history of the Australian premiership, only Valais (Cicero) (in the 1920s), his son Heroic (1930s), Delville Wood (Bois Roussel) (1950s), Star Kingdom (Stardust) (1960s) and Snitzel’s grandsire Danehill (Danzig) (2000s) have previously won four or more consecutive premierships.

A Golden Slipper, a Cox Plate, an All Aged, two Guineas, a Golden Rose, a Sires’ Produce, two Magic Millions 2YO Classics and most of Australia’s big sprints all feature on Snitzel’s progeny record.

SNITZEL stands at Arrowfield Stud at a fee of A$220,000 for 2022.

SNEAKING TO WIN is a Half-brother to World Champion Sprinting mare and Multiple Group 1 winner APPEARANCE (9 wins and $1,733,430) and Listed winner MASCARERI (8 wins and $451,800)

SNEAKING TO WIN was a A$450,000 yearling purchase for Peter Snowden at the MM Gold Coast Yearling Sale. He showed brilliant speed on the training track, and in trials, but was retired following a botched operation which left him with major damage to his larynx. Despite this he did record a strong 2nd placing in the city as a juvenile, coming from the rear of the field to just fail to pick up subsequent Up & Coming Stakes Gr.3 winner, Master Ash. In total he had only 3 starts for a 2nd and two fifths.

He is a powerful, correct stallion with a bombproof temperament.
